This is an Altar piece for my painting class.
This is a really personal piece for me, it's hard not to cry. Two of the owls represent my two non-blood brothers, who took their lives. The third is me, and it represents the fact that although I know they are not physically here with me, they are with me spiritually, and they thrive in another life.
The reason I chose owls is because not only do I love owls, but in middle eastern and asian cultures, the owl represents a guardian of other realms, guardian of the souls passing between realms, and a wise, mystical soul.
This owl represents my brother, Andrew.
